| Getting Started |
Trinity does not operate on a traditional academic calendar. We have an “Open Enrollment” policy. You can enroll and begin at any time during the year.
-
The first step is to make sure that you have acquired the information you need to make an informed decision. Our website and online catalog are comprehensive and offer detailed information on all degree programs, course/credit requirements, and tuition cost and fees. If you have not done so, you may wish to fill out an information (Evaluation) request form online or by telephone. We will recommend a degree program based on your information and will review all available options with you. We believe in a “Personal” touch so be sure to call an Enrollment Advisor to get all of your questions answered.
-
Once you have reviewed all of the information, know which programs you qualify for, and which one you specifically are interested in, then you are ready to enroll. As mentioned above, you can enroll at any time. There are essentially two ways to complete your enrollment; Online or by telephone with an Enrollment Advisor. Even if you submit the Online Application for Enrollment, it will not be processed until an advisor reviews the information and contacts you for confirmation.
-
Unlike many traditional programs, there will be no need for "picking and choosing" courses when you enroll for your program. The core classes listed in the website/online catalog are the courses you will be required to do (some substitutions are allowed and are clearly indicated). Our faculty has made this a streamlined and manageable process by predetermining the necessary curriculum. All you need to decide is how many of the classes you wish to enroll for initially.
-
Obviously, when considering how many classes to enroll for, finances now have to be taken into account. YOUR FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS ARE ONLY TO THOSE CLASSES YOU REGISTER FOR. Trinity is extremely accommodating when it comes to enrollment options. You can register for the first 3 classes (minimum required for use of tuition grants or payment plans) or all of your core classes but what needs to be considered is this; we can only assure the current tuition rate and grant amount for your current Enrollment Agreement. If you register for all core classes, you essentially lock in the current tuition rate and grant for your entire program. Otherwise, your cost on future Enrollment Agreements will be subject to change.
-
The cost of your registration will be calculated as follows; # of credits multiplied by the credit hour rate (for example 9 credits @ $168 per credits = tuition cost of $1512). In addition to Trinity's flexibility regarding enrollment options, Trinity is equally accommodating when it comes to an initial deposit to get started and monthly payment arrangements for the balance. Whether you register for 3 classes or all of your classes, you can prepay for your classes (which will generally result in an increased grant) or enroll with a tuition deposit (anything down to 20%) plus your fees. (textbooks are an additional cost and are not purchased directly through Trinity) Depending upon your qualified degree level, you could enroll for as little as $350 - $500. We will allow the balance to be paid on anything from a 6 to a 36 month payment plan. An Enrollment Advisor will work with you on a plan to meet your needs.
-
Now you have chosen your program, decided on the initial number of classes for enrollment, determined an acceptable payment arrangement, and made your payment with an Enrollment Advisor. At this point you will have either submitted an online application for enrollment or the advisor has completed one for you. Upon approval by the Admissions Committee, the admissions department will create your class schedule via an Enrollment Agreement and send it to you for electronic signature. When returned, the Enrollment Agreement is sent along with your application and payment for processing. This procedure will normally take place all in one day. Within 24-48 hours (more if the weekend is involved), you will be notified of acceptance (usually by email) into the Trinity program.
-
Once accepted, you will receive separate emails containing enrollment keys for your first scheduled classes. You will also receive information on logging on to the Trinity Online Learning Center (TOLC) where you can order textbooks, access classrooms, audio lectures, library resources, and course study guides. The TOLC is also the electronic venue where you can submit your assignments and interact with other trinity students and staff.
-
NOW WHAT HAPPENS?? Generally speaking, our courses are not that different and they contain the same basic components as traditional classes; as indicated above, they are made up of (MP3 audio) lectures, course syllabus, and textbook requirements (book requirements vary from course to course). Our courses contain these same components but are provided for you outside of the traditional classroom setting. You have a program director or other faculty member who is responsible for the course but he/she is not responsible for daily guidance through the materials. Your assignment/objectives are clearly outlined in your study guide. These will be a variety of written assignments (essay questions, research projects, critical reflection papers, summaries, etc...) meant to challenge and strengthen you in many areas. The assignments are easily submitted through the TOLC or even through the postal service if you prefer. Grades and critique are received in the same manner.
-
You are on your way! Remember: Trinity understands from years of experience that not everyone learns at the same rate. Each Enrollment Agreement is valid for 12 months and extensions are available. When you finish the courses on one Enrollment Agreement, you can immediately register for another set of courses. Trinity has a dedicated Academic Advisory staff to work with you. We also have program directors, onsite and adjunct faculty, technical staff, and a variety of general staff members who will be available to help you on a daily basis (you can make contact via email or telephone).
