The truth is, the interactions with staff and fellow students in an online seminary or online bible college are going to be different than a classroom setting. Students can’t arrive for class a few minutes early and chat with fellow students.  They can’t hang out after class to have a face-to-face conversation with their professor.  If you are looking for a face-to-face learning environment, where there is a lot of time for relationship-building, Trinity may not be for you.

However, we at Trinity College of the Bible and Theological Seminary have doing distance learning for 50 years. We understand responsive communication is essential for success.

Trinity Online Seminary Faculty are Accessible

Trinity teachers and professors have a lot of experience working with students in an online environment.  All of our faculty are available by email and phone.  Many of them even give out their cell phone numbers to their students.

We understand that many of our students watch lectures and work on class work in the evenings and weekends. Therefore, we make a point of being accessible and by phone and email in the evenings and on weekends as much as possible.

Trinity Online Bible College Fosters Student Interaction

Most Trinity online bible college classes and online seminary classes also have online forums. These online forums foster interaction among students and faculty.

On Demand Webinar Courses

Many of Trinity’s online bible college courses and online seminary courses are self-paced, which are extremely convenient, especially for our students who are extremely busy with work, ministry and family. By their nature, self-paced classes don’t allow for a group of students to go through the class together.

Therefore, Trinity also offers On Demand Webinar Courses.

An On Demand Webinar Course meets a total of four (4) weeks; course end date is six (6) weeks from the start date. The four weeks utilize asynchronous (non-real time) video lectures and online discussions. On Demand Webinar Courses provide students with a community of learning while completing course requirements, and allow for ongoing interaction with one of Trinity’s faculty members who are experts in their field of study, as well as interaction with other students in order to enrich the learning experience.

Each week you’ll pursue a different aspect of the topic, until all of your assignments are complete. Every On Demand webinar has a set completion date by which all assignments and discussion must be finished. This format strengthens student interaction and helps every Trinity student get the most from their class.

More information can be found on our On Demand Webinar Courses page.

How does a 100% online seminary benefit you, the student?

1) Work at your own pace.

Everything we do revolves around enabling you to work at your own pace.  This includes things like on-demand webinars and independent study options.  This means if you have a family emergency, a ministry emergency, or a really busy week or two of work you can focus on those things and get back to your class work when time allows.

2) Work on your own schedule.

Most of our students are either already serving in ministry full-time or have another full time job and are studying to enter the ministry full-time. Many of our students have children at home too.  We understand this makes for some crazy schedules. As a 100% online seminary and bible college, you can take classes when it’s convenient for you, whether that’s 5 AM, on your lunch break, after the kids are in bed, or on the weekend.

3) No commute.

If you were to get your degree at a local seminary or bible college, you would have to drive to and from campus multiple times a week.  Trinity students have no commute at all.  They just login to their laptop or tablet from their home or office to watch lectures and do class work.

4) No travel.

Many “online seminary” programs and “online bible college” programs are not entirely online.  Some require expensive and time-consuming travel to their campus for exams or week-long intensive classes.  Trinity’s online seminary and online bible college programs are 100% online. You are not required to travel to our beautiful campus in Evansville, Indiana.  (Though we would love for you to visit and meet in person if you can.)

If the benefits of a 100% online seminary or 100% online bible college would help you, fill out the “Request More Information” form on the right side of this page.

Since then many other people have done their own “You might be a…” spin-offs.

You Might be a Trinity Seminary Student If…

Every year, hundreds of thousands of people visit Trinity’s website and wonder “Would I be a good fit for Trinity College of the Bible and Theological Seminary?”

We thought this would be fun way to answer that question.

You might be a Trinity seminary (or Trinity bible college student) if…

• You became a pastor and then realized no one ever taught you how to lead a church.
• You’re a pastor and some of the people in your church are not perfect. Some actually want to talk with you about their problems. Understanding biblical counseling would be helpful.
• Driving to class through blizzards or rush hour traffic isn’t your preferred form of relaxation. You would rather take seminary classes in your own home or office.
• Other “online” seminary programs you’ve checked out still require some classes to be taken on campus. You think online seminary should be 100% online.
• You’re 30-60 years old, have a job and a family and can’t go back to school full time
• You live in Africa and the 100+ mile walk to the nearest seminary would be tough on the feet.
• You’re a missionary in the field and don’t have a private jet to fly to the states regularly for seminary classes.
• You’re crazy enough to follow God’s call on your life to become a pastor.
• You love God and want to know Him better.

Do any of these sound like you?

If so, Trinity may be the online seminary for you.  Click to learn more about Trinity seminary or fill out the Request More Information form on the right side of this page.

Trinity is a 100% online bible college and online seminary.

Many Christian colleges and seminaries have developed online programs, but most still require their students to come to campus at some point.  Some require final exams to be taken on campus.  Some require participation in a compressed, one-week class at least once a year.

Students who participate in these “mostly online” programs incur extra travel expenses.  Since many students who participate in distance learning programs have jobs and families, they are also forced to take vacation days from work and figure out how schedule these campus visits around their ministry and family responsibilities.

Students in Trinity’s online bible college and online seminary programs are able to save money, save time and eliminate the stress and hassle of campus visits.

Trinity Understands Distance Learning and Distance Learners

Trinity College of the Bible and Theological Seminary also comes from a different perspective compared to those Christian colleges and seminaries that are just now dipping their toe in the pool of distance learning.

Trinity was founded in 1969 as a distance education school. Of course, back in 1969 there was no Internet. So, when Trinity started, everything was done via postal service.

This is important because Trinity has always been geared towards adult learners who are learning at a distance.  The faculty and staff of Trinity understand distance learning and distance learners.  We understand that adult learners have busy professional lives, and can be anywhere in the world.

Because Trinity started as a distance learning school, moving into the online age has been a huge advantage for us.  While the advent of online education has forced many bible colleges and seminaries to rethink the way they educate students, for us at Trinity, it has simply sped up and enhanced the process of what we were already doing.

If you are interested in an online bible college or online seminary to advance your education, help you in your ministry, or help you grow in your understanding of and relationship with God and a 100% online degree program would be a good fit for your busy life, we hope you’ll consider Trinity College of the Bible and Theological Seminary.
